Souhila, jasmine and flowers.

Souhila Belbahar is a painter born in Blida, having started drawing at the age of eight. She then devoted herself to drawing on fabric and canvas, leaving the beaten track, She will create, paint and exhibit nationally and internationally, she has several exhibitions to her credit, and distinction for her art, Souhila will thus work with the UNFA around the status of women.

She is one of the Algerian painters for whom drawing and painting is a ritual that she has absorbed from her environment and her education, for her painting is a means of work that we do not stop practicing.

Currently she is preparing an exhibition at the Palace of Culture, presenting the flowers and scents of jasmine, she has also painted many women in their green interior, transformed into plants and seeds, as a wise said “women are the seeds that carry their cultures away”, Souhila will translate this saying by women petals, managing to enrich with her touch of style the landscape art of Algerian female artists.

Indeed, it was during the World Cup of Cooking and Culinary Arts that Algeria distinguished itself by winning the trophy in the pastry category. The competition was organized in Tunisia and candidates from 35 different countries, Arab and foreign, competed. This is reported by the Arabic-language daily Echorouk, in its edition today.

In detail, the competition was hosted by the Tunisian city of Sousse. Organized by the Golden Falcons association, it took place from February 11 to 13 and saw participants from all over the world who competed in several culinary challenges which consisted of the preparation of different dishes, which were tasted by a jury which then delivered its verdict and rewarded the best preparations.

Among the participants, there are teams from Italy, Tunisia, Switzerland and Germany. But also from Libya, Turkey, Russia, Palestine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. In addition to candidates from South Korea, Gulf countries and Latin America. It is facing all these interesting people that the Algerian team has managed to distinguish itself.


Culinary World Cup: Distinguished Algerians

Indeed, the first prize in the category of cakes was awarded to the Algerian team. Who managed to seduce the taste buds of the jury among all other preparations. Namely that the tests of the competition consisted in preparing confectionery (or individual cakes), cakes and different kinds of bread.

The event began with an open exhibition during which the participants presented their various products and specialties. The jury finally awarded the prizes to the winners after a tasting session. The winners expressed themselves in a video that we put you just above.

Fatima Zahra has been a self-taught photographer since 2012, loving to take her amateur camera and walk to fix, thus immortalizing the streets, Her eye does not seek people, or portraits, it is more attracted by the beauty of cities, their architecture, the remains and monuments, in search of the lights and colors that she transfers to canvases and other supports, which reflect her gaze on the doors, the arcades, the details and the views of the Casbah.

Fatima Zahra has as future project to visit other cities in Algeria and stage them with her lens.
